United By Blue continuing Delaware River cleanup efforts with April cleanup

Over the last few years, Philadelphia-based clothing and coffee retailer United By Blue has contributed to the removal of over 19,000 lbs of waste from the Delaware River through a series of cleanups. These cleanup events are hosted at various locations, including a few different points of the Delaware River.

The formerly abandoned pier off of the Walmart parking lot on Columbus Boulevard has been transformed. Pier 68 park was unveiled last week as one of the improvements to the Delaware River waterfront.

Completed Pier 68 park to be unveiled on October 1

Last week we told you about the new land acquisitions for the Delaware River Trail. Now there’s even more reason to be excited about the future of the waterfront, with the completion of Pier 68 park. Work began on the park earlier this summer after being talked about since 2013.
