Huge Moyamensing lot finally to get redeveloped into 15 homes?

A large sign created quite a buzz when it suddenly popped up Friday afternoon inside the vacant lot at Moyamensing Avenue and Moore Street.  It’s the site of the previously proposed Moyamensing Estates, and the land had been back on the market since June of last year.

The sign, boasting “pre-construction pricing,” shows a 15-home development called Moyamensing Place and looks to be the most recent incarnation of hope for a long-vacant corner of Pennsport. Even today, only the newly placed sign, a derelict, graffiti-tagged delivery truck and some other random piles of trash are housed on the lot.

SoPhilly Spotlight: Red Tub edition

For this week’s SoPhilly Spotlight, we head to 1125 Pierce St. This house has only been on Trulia for 16 days, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it was already under contract. It’s less than a block from Passyunk Avenue, has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, over 1,500 square feet and an amazing deck. All for $289,000, which if you believed that Inky article about prices around here, is a pretty good deal.

Love the purple! You gotta watch those narrow doors, though. Not many couches can fit through.

From Trulia:

[N]ice size living room with Canadian Maple flooring. Powder room in the rear. Original archway has custom cathedral styled doors that lead to the large, bright eat in kitchen, white cabinets, tile floors, ample counter and storage space. 2nd Floor has a large rear bedroom, large bathroom features a claw foot tub, stand up shower, large closet, French doors lead to front bedroom. 3rd Floor: has a large master suite, large bath, wonderful enclosed deck with a spectacular skyline view.
