Breezy’s Cafe moving into the old Munson Manor

The vegan-friendly sandwich shop Breezy’s Cafe will be moving into 1200 S. 20th St., the old Munson Manor space at 20th and Federal. So it’s not going to be a bar after all.

Naked Philly reports that the cafe hopes to move out of its original location at 2011 Reed St., which they opened in February, and into the burgeoning corner sometime next month.

Coming soon, Breezy's Cafe

Coming soon, Breezy’s Cafe

It’s been busy along Point Breeze Avenue. Breezy’s new intersection, 20th, Federal and Point Breeze Ave., is also where Munson building owner Ori Feibush’s OCF cafe is and the headquarters of the coming commercial corridor improvement district he is starting. Then down the block, one building is being converted to a day-care and office space and around the corner from that, a new craft-beer bar and takeout is opening.

4 professional offices, daycare coming for yet another Point Breeze Avenue development

There’s more development coming to Point Breeze Avenue.

A construction crew is busy renovating a corner property at 1301 Point Breeze Ave., at the corner of Wharton Street. Previously a hair salon, the retail space on the first floor will become a day-care center, according to zoning documents. The second floor had been one space but it will now be broken into four tenant spaces for use as “business and professional offices.”

This development is just a block down Point Breeze Avenue from two projects we told you about this month. One is the community improvement district being started by developer Ori Feibush to be based at 1155 S. 20th St. And the other is across the street from that, the old Munson Manor, which Feibush is renovating in the hopes of luring a restaurant operator to the site.

Feibush bought the old Munson Manor, has started renovating

UPDATE: Feibush says he will not be operating the restaurant/bar that will replace Munson, but that he has a specific operator in mind and is very close to signing a deal with them. He wouldn’t cough it up, though. Not yet…

Ori Feibush of OCF Realty says that two weeks ago he bought the old Munson Manor bar at the five-points intersection of Point Breeze Avenue and 20th and Federal streets. Renovations have already begun.

He broke the news himself in a comment on our post yesterday about his plans to create a community improvement organization that will be headquartered across the street from the building.
