Keep in mind, when we named this dinner “Vegan Steakhouse”, it was only because of the steakhouse chef. Now that we’ve seen the menu, it looks like the two of them have wandered pretty far from the vegan-in-a-steakhouse concept. All the way to edible chopsticks, it seems…
Owner Steve Laurence has hired chef Leigh Needham to create a blackboard menu that changes according to “whatever is fresh that day,” Laurence said. Menu items when we stopped by included butternut squash gnudi, spicy miso soup, a poached pear salad, a spicy tofu bahn mi and polenta with root vegetables and melted greens. The full menu is below.
Owner Steve Laurence says, “We’ve had some delays getting the room finished and we want to give people a chance to check out the food and get an idea of what we’re working on.”
The pop-up goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday Nov. 29 (which Laurence is calling Green Friday) and Saturday Nov. 30. $5 will get you a shot of Carrot-Apple Coconut Curry Soup, a choice of two mini sandwiches and choice of one of their sweet bites.
