Another corner of Passyunk and Dickinson has been revived with the opening of Volta Market, which offers handmade soaps, natural household cleaning products and organic packaged goods like chocolate, mustards and snacks.
Owner Lisa Volta opened her namesake shop last week — at 1439 E. Passyunk Ave., across from the POPE and B2 — about four years after launching her homemade soap line, Volta Organics. If the brand sounds familiar, she had already been selling at Nice Things Handmade and other shops around town, as well as online.
Volta makes a wide range of bath and body products, such as an all-in-one Ginger Grapefruit hair, face and body bar, customized mixes of bath salts, teatree lemongrass deodorant, a Dead Sea facial mask and many more. For men, Volta also has been selling A Man Kit (For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow), which includes aftershave, mustache wax and beard softener.
