Watkins Drinkery, the refined former corner tap at 10th and Watkins, has lured itself a new chef, Tim Kozak, formerly of Local 44 in West Philly, Foobooz reports.

New dads meetup goes down at Watkins Drinkery on Thursday

In the mood for some adult conversation after spending most of your time baby-talking your way through meals? Then you’re in luck.

A new group called South Philly Parents Resource Center is hosting a “Dads Night Out” on Thursday at Watkins Drinkery at 10th and Watkins, about half a block down from Fountain Porter.

The event kicks off at 8 p.m. and you’ll get 10 percent off food and drinks. SPPRC hopes to link parents together as a way of strengthening the neighborhood as a whole. Beer brings strength too, especially to dads.

Watkins Drinkery makes changes for fall

Watkins Drinkery at 10th and Watkins has updated its menu for the season under a new chef, Dieu Du, Foobooz reports:

The fall menu includes a series of autumn-inspired plates chef Dieu Du hopes will leave you thirsty for more.

Notable autumn highlights: Vegan Autumnal Salad with arugula, persimmon, pear, almond, and lime vinaigrette, Crispy Pheasant Leg with over wilted watercress and a soy maple glaze, House Made Sausage Sandwich featuring the chef’s seasonal selection with accompaniments and bread also chosen by the chef.

Sounds tasty. Now that we think of it, it has been a while since we stopped in to Watkins. And this reminded us of their nice beer selection and upstairs pool table, which is often free. Uh oh, that means PR works.
