East Passyunk planning a late-winter restaurant week

Though it’s still early, the East Passyunk Business Improvement District is organizing an East Passyunk restaurant week for the end of winter.

The BID is still lining up the final restaurant … um… line-up, which will offer lunch and dinner menus at $15, $25 and $35 for three courses. It runs Feb. 24 to March 2. Mark you calendar, early birds. There was an RW in 2009 that was part of a wider endeavor in Chestnut Hill, Northern Liberties and other neighborhoods, but since the BID is organizing this one, it could turn into a regular event.

So cheesy it should come with toast points
Restaurant weeks tend to have mixed reviews, with complaints about subpar service and crappier menus, but they sure are popular. Not that Passyunk needs any help attracting restaurant patrons, but the Center City District just released numbers about its latest restaurant week and it attracted 240,845 diners at 132 restaurants, a 24 percent increase in diners over last year. So, it couldn’t hurt here, right?
