Crafty Balboa comes to East Passyunk Saturday

Crafty Balboa, the craft-fair with the cult-like following, will hold its fourth annual holiday event Saturday with 65 vendors in the Neumann-Goretti school, 11th and Moore.

You get the idea, from last year, via Crafty’s Facebook page

This is the first time Crafty has been held in East Passyunk since 2009, when it started with a mere 20 vendors around the fountain. It moved to bigger digs at Broad and Pine, but organizer Amy Buller decided to bring the show home this year. Buller told us:

Crafty Balboa Holiday is a craft market featuring unique, high quality and affordable handmade goods. Crafty boasts that the holiday shopper can find a gift for everyone on their list at the market [with] everything from prints, bath products, housewares, and knits to unique clothing, ceramics, toys, and accessories.

New features this year include Philly-based Photobot 3000 and a crafting demo by Colorwheels, which is affliated with Fleisher Art Memorial, in which you can make your own wrapping paper. It also happens to be Second Saturday this weekend, so there will be plenty of reasons to stick around the neighborhood after you’ve perused all the craft goodies. Plus, you can park in the school lot.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Get there early and the first 50 shoppers will receive a gift bag filled with items from the Balboa vendors.
