Tequila! Not the song from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure

Yep, the kind you may not remember drinking. Anyway, the Cantina at 1651 E. Passyunk Ave. is hosting the first meeting of its Tequila Club next Tuesday at 7 p.m., Feb. 5. Thanks to Meal Ticket for the tip-off in their post, which said:

The introductory session will break down the basics of blanco, anejo and reposados. Not sure yet on the salt and lime situation but the evening’s tequila selection will be paired with bites from Cantina exec chef Mark McKinney and plenty of chips and salsa.

Tickets are $35. Get them at the Cantina or by calling 215-755-3550. Looks like the place is going to be packed. The Facebook event page already says 48 people are going.

I tried the tequila flights one time, and was pretty amazed at how great the different tequilas were, and how different they were. This seems like something definitely worth checking out.
