East Passyunk Restaurant Week menus are out

We told you way back in November that the East Passyunk BID was going to throw a restaurant week, and now they’ve released all the menus.

And the best news is that it’s not all just chicken or salmon. We’ve been burned by restaurant week menus before in Center City, after having been lured in by the prospect of a deal and not interested in the two cheapest offerings on the menu. But Passyunk don’t play like that.

All the heavy hitters are there under the $35 category, including buzzed-about Will, Fond, Le Virtu and Stateside, but also old favorites like Mamma Maria and under-appreciated gems like Paradiso. But there is another $25 tier that features some great deals from the Cantina, Birra and Marra’s. Click through the jump to see a sampling of some of the better entree offerings.

In the $35 tier

Will: Barnegat Light Scallops with Jerusalem Artichoke, Celery, Nasturtium

Izumi: Chef’s tasting, essentially

Paradiso: Hudson Valley Duck Breast “Agrodolce” with Cipollini Onion, Creamy Polenta

Another surprise is the addition of Kris at 11th and Federal, which seems to be offering half its menu.

In the $25 tier

Birra: Stuffed Pork Chop with Wild Mushrooms and Pecans, Pear, Rosemary, Served with Smashed Truffle Potatoes

Cantina, where you can add a tequila pairing for only $10: Grilled Squid Steak with Chimichurri, Mexican Greens, Roasted Corn Salsa, White Rice; Paired with Don Julio Blanco

Noir is mixing it up, serving a soup or salad with first course, an app for second and entree for third, for $25.
