SoPhilly Spotlight: “Center City Style Living”

Ooh, how glamorous! Well, it’s definitely not Center City. It’s not even Bella Vista like the Alpha Realty listing says. But it’s definitely a nice place.

Bad picture, but 20-foot ceilings

For $1,800 a month, this 2-bedroom plus den, 2-bath rental at 1201 S. 5th St. (at Federal) is actually in Dickinson Narrows, or really, the newly named Dickinson Square West (we’ll see if that one sticks).

One of six units in the building, this place is a stunner. From the listing:

Gorgeous 2 bedroom + den (possible 3 bedroom) unit! Ultra modern through out with hardwood floors, central air, gas fireplace & stainless/ granite kitchen and dramatic 20ft ceilings!!! With tons of natural light!! Must see… For “center city style living” but much more affordable! On the out skirts of jefferson square, bella vista and queens village… A must see!

Walk in to ground floor entrance with ultra modern kitchen, full bath, 1 bedroom and washer dryer. 2nd level features private bedroom with full bath including jacuzzi tub! And walk in closet. Sub level has additional room to be used as you wish… Perfect for roomate share!

What do you think? Will this place fetch $1,800 a month at 5th and Federal?

I don’t know how much I trust a realtor who refers to it as “queen’s village”. It also bothers me to see advertisements for rooms called “den/bedroom”, when we all know that means “illegal third bedroom”. And it’s in the basement? Ouch.
