Fountain Porter to serve $5 burgers; Scarduzio project inches forward

Fountain Porter, the beer-focused corner tap we showed you when it opened in October, will add one item to their minuscule menu – burgers. Grub Street reports that owners Evan Clancy and Scott Pawlicky have tasked the kitchen with sending out burgers that only cost $5.

They’re only available on weekends, though, so Monday to Friday, you can still only get cheese plates, charcuterie, pickles and free nuts at the bar. Expect the addition at the bar, 10th and Tasker, to be the first of a handful of new items they plan to roll out.

Meanwhile, at 12th and Morris, the Insider reports that Chris Scarduzio and partners Stephen and Tamar Olitsky have officially bought the building that now houses Artisan Boulanger.

Scarduzio, who also owns Table 31 in the Comcast Center, has previously said the new restaurant will be an Italian bistro but Insider says the concept is still being discussed. There also was a rumor that the building was going to be torn down and rebuilt, but the realtor told us that wasn’t the case.

Eventually, AB will move out, and Scarduzio will get moving

Artisan Boulanger has a new spot under construction at 1218 Mifflin St., but it has been hobbled by delays and it seems like no work has been done for weeks. But they apparently have to be out within 90 days, so maybe this will be the kick in the ass their contractor needs.

So little work has been done, it’s agonizing

Fountain Porter is a trendy yet “locals only” feel pub that has a great vibe. One of the Chefs, Greg Stephens, is a key component in making this tavern a huge success!
