Last week, we told you that a tenant had already secured the neon green storefront that used to be Minnie’s Secret, the herbal shop and massage place at 1507 E. Passyunk Ave.
We caught up with the new shop owner, Nicola Vittoria, who plans to open a store called Eclectic Expressionism.
The plan is to open next month. And what about the color?
Yes, she says it will no longer be green, though she won’t divulge her plans. “With some things the visual is safer than words,” she said. Intriguing.
Vittoria, an artist with a studio in Bella Vista, moved to Philly in 2010 from California but grew up in Manhattan. Now she lives upstairs. She plans the space as an art gallery and boutique that will also sell accessories, multimedia artwork and arts & crafts. She’s in the process of buying the inventory now, so she said we’ll have to wait and see for more details.
Finally, it looks like Passyunk Avenue is starting to get a critical mass of retail options. Between Nice Things Handmade, the new HOME, the upcoming Occassionette, Fabric Horse, several jewelry stores and much more, you’ll be able to do all your birthday gift shopping on Passyunk.
Sweet. We have to keep all these new restaurants full somehow.
