American Sardine Bar appeals for outside seating TODAY at ZBA

Last week we told you about the struggle that developer/bar owner John Longacre has endured in his quest to use a formerly vacant lot for outside seating for the American Sardine Bar.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, the meeting is today, so get thee to the ZBA.

The appeal before the Zoning Board of Adjustment is scheduled for the non-professional-friendly time of 5 p.m. at 1515 Arch Street, 18th Floor. But there are several appeals scheduled before this one – and these things rarely run on time – so if you scoot out of work in Center City at 5, you should be able to make it in time to voice your support.

The application is to allow a handful of tables on what was a vacant, trash-strewn lot at 1801 Manton St., which is right next to ASB. The zoning app says there will be an eight-foot high fence surrounding the patio.

If history is any guide, opponents of all things new in Point Breeze will surely be there. So if you have the time, go voice your support.
