SoPhilly Spotlight: A different kind of stairs! edition

For this week’s SoPhilly Spotlight, it’s time to showcase something under $500k, for those among us who aren’t doctors, lawyers, or dancers at Show and Tel. We plebes need houses, too!

1225 S Carlisle St is in Point Breeze, and it’s cute as all get-out. $259,900 seems a tad high, but this is a nice renovation only one block from the Ellsworth-Federal subway station. AND it has an angled staircase. We don’t know anyone in South Philly with an angled staircase.

Whoever buys this house can charge admission just to walk up and down it a few times and pretend you’re in a Victorian.

The floors are beautiful and the kitchen is redone but still very cozy and charming. It’s only been on Trulia for 6 days, so don’t let this 1,328 sqft, 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath get snapped up by someone else!

The bathroom has been tastefully remodeled, and we can see that they kept some of the old touches like a fireplace mantel and arched nook in an upstairs bedroom. The bedrooms have actual closets. The basement appears to be finished and the backyard is large for this neighborhood.

What do you think? You like?

Looks like new carpet in a South Philly basement. Some people will never learn.
