SoPhilly Spotlight: The bay window edition

This. House. Is. A. Deal!

1331 Tasker has only been listed for 4 days, and based on our recent SoPhilly Spotlights, this is a really good deal! $339,000 for almost 2,000 square feet. End units like this one are more expensive to heat in the winter, but as you can see from these photos, they get a lot of sunlight. There are a lot of original details here like real-wood paneling and a bay window with window seat. Oh, and five bedrooms.

From the PruFoxRoach agent’s website:

This spacious five bedroom home has 9 ft+ ceilings, hardwood floors and with three sides of windows; fantastic natural light throughout. The vestibule entry features marble floors and an antique glass door that leads to an open living room with bay window. The first floor continues with a formal dining room, large eat-in-kitchen with tiled floor and a full bathroom. The second floor features three good sized bedrooms (one with bay window) and a tiled hall bathroom. The third floor has two bedrooms.

The bathroom and kitchen are slightly outdated, but those are very easily overcome obstacles. Oh, how we have dreamed of someday sitting in our own lovely bay window and writing in our journal! But now that’s a dream that will be coming true for someone else.

This room is calling out for a pool table. Or maybe a foozball table.

Based on these pictures, this seems like a lot bigger than 1,922 square feet. Don’t you think?

Although this house looks pretty nice, it’s not on 13th Street. It’s actually on the corner of 13th and Watts, which is definitely not one of the nicest blocks in the area.

David, It’s actually on the corner of Tasker and Watts. And it is about a half block from the Dolphin. Where do I sign?!

Ha. Dammit. Hoisted by my own petard. Definitely meant to write Tasker.

D’oh! And why exactly did I think 13th Street? I have no idea. Whoops.

I read in the biography of Albert Barnes (The Devil and Dr. Barnes) that he lived at that address for a few years as a child.

Wow, thanks for that tidbit, SP. That’s really cool. I wonder who the next South Philly native will end up with a museum on the Parkway named after them.
