Baby store called Cloth will move into new Passyunk storefront

You probably already know that South Philly Stained Glass at 1605 E. Passyunk Ave. moved a few doors down last year to the old South Philly Comics location when that store moved to nicer digs at 1840.

You also probably know that 1605 has gotten the full treatment, a total rehab with a 1,200-square-foot retail space on the ground floor and an apartment above. But you probably didn’t know that both have already been rented, even though they’re not quite finished.

Soon to be Cloth,
Soon to be Cloth, at 1605 E. Passyunk Ave.

We’re hearing that the store will be a natural baby-apparel and accessories shop called Cloth. We’ll fill you in when we get more details.

In the meantime, we can at least enjoy that a formerly crumbling storefront has been replaced with a shiny new one.

Disappointing choice. This neighborhood has more childless young people than those who need yet another children’s clothing store. Great location needs diversity.

That is great! With so many parents and babies/toddlers in the neighborhood, I hope they do really well.
