SoPhilly Spotlight: Smallest House Ever edition

For this week’s SoPhilly Spotlight, we jam you into a tiny Passyunk Square trinity at 707 Ellsworth St. whose listing trumpets its “Great Value!!!”

707 ellsworth

Clocking in at a minuscule 529 square feet, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath house is listed for $144,000. That price is the product of eight equally tiny price reductions, down from the original asking price of $165,000.

From the listing, which needs a bit of editing and a few capital letters:

Charming two beds updated trinity style town-home in a great location only minutes from center city on quite tree lined street in bella vista italian market area. Cozy living room, updated kitchen with granite tops, slate floors and stainless steel appliances. Nice size patio space on the back. Newly tiled bathroom on second floor. New wood floors. Great location only minutes from great shopping, bars, trendy restaurants, center city, passyunk east, south philadelphia, queen village, pennsport, south philadelphia, bella vista and the italian market. Very attractive price for the area. Low low taxes. Great for investment or a starter home.

That street does look “quite.”

So, could imagine plunking down $144,000 for 500+ square feet?

Whew, the facade on that house is UGLY! Small place, but you know what, a part of me wouldn’t be surprised if someone bought it for $144,000.
