At long last, the craft-can bar Garage is expected to open at 1231 E. Passyunk Ave. this weekend, and Michael Klein at Philly.com says it will be tonight. Check out our pictures of the inside here, then plan your skee-ball strategy.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday:
The Cat Circus is coming to town. Well, it’s more of an obstacle course, but it does seem pretty interesting.
According to its website, where we got the photo:
Our fantastic felines will amuse and amaze your guests as they ride skateboards, ring bells, roll barrels, walk the high wire, climb ropes, push a shopping cart, jump through hoops, and even run a cat-size agility course.
Well, OK, then. Painted Bride Arts Center, 230 Vine Street. Tickets: $18. Shows each day at 7 p.m., plus at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 1 p.m. Sunday.
It’s second Saturday on East Passyunk again, and in addition to more than two dozen specials and events, B2 is celebrating its 5th Anniversary with an art sale with the proceeds benefiting Jackson Elementary. Passyunk and Dickinson. Free, 6-8 p.m. Check here for the full line-up of Second Saturday events, which also include a free Sly Fox brewery sampling at the Bottle Shop and Sweet Jane Vintage pop-up at Lucky 13.
It’s Bastille Day on Sunday, and rather than trek all the way up to Easter State Penitentiary, just got stuff yourself at Bistrot La Minette. The restaurant at 623 S. 6th (near Bainbridge) is offering a special four-course prix fixe brunch for $40 from 11:30 a.m. all the way to 9: 30 p.m. You can hit up Antiquarian’s Delight one last time while you’re at it.
