Kermit’s Bake Shoppe, opening Monday, wants tasters who like free stuff

Kermit’s Bake Shoppe, the bakery/pizza place opening on Washington Avenue near 22nd Street, is nearly ready to go. And they say they want people to sign up to taste their goodies before the shop opens on Monday.

Did you notice that catch at the bottom? You have to follow the shop on Twitter or Facebook to qualify.

The buzz about this place is starting reverberate through our rowhouse-lined streets, by the way. We showed you recently the new pizza-shaped bike racks they installed outside the shop, which is the latest effort from Sidecar owner Adam Ritter and Chad Durkin of TLC’s Next Great Baker.

Eater Philly managed to get the menu, and it doesn’t look much like the pizza places we know about.

The Insider snapped a couple pictures of the inside, and Foobooz snagged a shot of some of desserts that had been prepped for a photo shoot. See?

Those desserts, as well as the pizza, will be available by delivery from a fleet of bike-riding couriers. So if you fell lazy but get a hankering for a Cornish pastie or a passion fruit meringue tart, you’re in luck.
