2 Stock Music Fest, with 3 stages, comes to Pennsport Wendesday night

Music festival season is in full swing around the country and South Philly is getting in on the action with a huge night of peace, love, music and fun. The Edward O’Malley Athletic Association (EOM) in Pennsport will host the EOM 2 Stock Music Festival on Wednesday, July 24 from 4 to 10 p.m.

Not exactly Woodstock, but a fine venue for a music festival, no?

Given the small size of the space, the EOM is putting on a surprisingly large show.

The Electric Stage and the Acoustic Stage will both be located outside on the baseball field. Indoors there will be a Broadway Stage, which will showcase some local high school singers. In total, there will be around 30 acts performing on the three stages. The night will be co-hosted by DJs Ed “Wolfie” Kelly and Joel “Dr. Von Funkenstien” Von Franze.

Some highlighted performers include Nicki Sbaffoni, New Sound Brass Band, The Senders, TC Cole, and 5 oz. Baby Penguin (possibly the best band name ever). A complete list of scheduled performers can be found here.

EOM 2STreet Music

The EOM, at 144 Moore St., is going all out for its first music festival. Aside from the music, there will be plenty of food, drinks and even amusement rides for kids.

Gates to the event open at 2:30 and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to get a good spot for their blankets. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 11-17 years old. Children 10 years and under are free with a paying adult. A $5 wristband is required for all children who wish to enjoy the amusement rides.

The tickets can be purchased at the EOM Athletic Association, the Pennsport Civic Association, and Philadelphia Music Spot.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the EOM and 298 Charities. You can now follow @2StockMusicFest for updates or check out www.EOM2StockMusicFestival.org and Facebook.
