Artisan Boulanger finally opens on Mifflin on Sat., August 3

Well it’s about time, right?

Artisan Boulanger, the French bakery whose new location was supposed to be open in August 2012, will finally open  at 1218 Mifflin St. on Saturday, Aug. 3.

A sign popped up in the window last week heralding the most anticipated opening of any bakery we could ever think of. We haven’t been able to hook up with owner Andre Chin to find out what the latest holdup was – the latest projected opening timeline was nearly two months ago.

But at this point, who cares? Those fruit crepes will again soon be in our bellies.

The original plan was to increase their offerings to possibly include sandwiches and soups, plus expand their commercial baking process (they supply the bread for Plenty’s sandwiches, for instance). But we’ll have to confirm that this week and let you know. More details to come.

CORRECTION: Duh, yes, it’s opening August 3, not April 3, which is what the headline said for a time. oops.

Lord, I need those croissants. Whenever I go in with my daughter they always give her a madelleine.

Just wanted to give this story a heads up – its now AUGUST 2nd not the third. It was better luck on a Chinese calendar or something similar. One day closer!
