Here’s a friendly reminder. South Street will be … the place to be … tonight as The Food Trust’s voraciously popular Night Market comes to nine full blocks of the street where all those hippies used to meet.
Front to 9th Street will be jammed with trucks serving arepas, tacos, po’boys, empanadas, lobster rolls, roti, roasted corn, popsicles and more from the city’s best food trucks and restaurants. You can also expect stilt walkers, food sculptures, body painters and a roving brass band from 6 to 10 p.m.
Get there early if you actually want to eat.
We saw Foobooz’s post yesterday about Cheu Noodle Bar on 10th Street readying 2,000 wings in preparation for the event. Figure six wings to an order (a wild guess), serving one to two orders a minute (another stab in the dark), and they’ll be gone by 9.
So, maybe that doesn’t make much sense, but whatever. Food at these things tends to start running out around 8 p.m. Just a heads up.
