Feibush bought the old Munson Manor, has started renovating

UPDATE: Feibush says he will not be operating the restaurant/bar that will replace Munson, but that he has a specific operator in mind and is very close to signing a deal with them. He wouldn’t cough it up, though. Not yet…

Ori Feibush of OCF Realty says that two weeks ago he bought the old Munson Manor bar at the five-points intersection of Point Breeze Avenue and 20th and Federal streets. Renovations have already begun.

He broke the news himself in a comment on our post yesterday about his plans to create a community improvement organization that will be headquartered across the street from the building.

Of Munson Manor, he said: “Purchased it two weeks ago. Lots of work going on. Check out what it looked like on Google Maps last month. Windows are going in to Munson Manor shortly. 1155 s. 20th looks very different with new windows from this morning as well.”

Well, let’s see. What did it look like on Google maps?

Google says this is from 2011

Yep, that’s different. Feibush first reported his intentions to renovate the bar nearly a year ago, when Naked Philly said it would take a while. Well, apparently the day has come.

What’s not yet clear is whether he intends to operate the new place himself or whether he plans to bring in another operator. We couldn’t find a liquor license for the building, 1200 Point Breeze Ave., on the PLCB’s horrible license search, and as you can see in the top photo, there is an OCF Realty sign on it.

We’ve reached out to Feibush to try to suss out the details and will update when we hear back.

So…it looks much worse than it did in 2011?

I kid (sort of), I believe you that it is being renovated.

Hey, so what was Munson Manor anyway? A music store? That sign looks like it has a record on it.

It was a bar that closed about 10 years ago. Mr. Munson sold the liquor license around that same time.
