To-Do List: 1st brunch, free pizza, dragon boats, free Barnes, open artist studios

Lots of stuff in this week’s To-Do List, which now includes listings from our new events calendar, as well as a smattering of other fun stuff from around the city. If you have something to add, please put it in the comments, or you can submit future events to our calendar here.

Get free pizza at Slice, the artisan shop at 10th and Federal across from Bitar’s. Tastes of their new menu items are now available for free every first Friday of the month.

The Philadelphia Dragon Boat Festival – a race with regular people who team up to padde long boats with dragon heads on them – goes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with food and vendors all along Boathouse Row on Kelly Drive.

Saturday and Sunday

Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, more than 20 artists who open their studios for you to take a look around. Noon to 6 p.m., check POST’s site here.

  • Get free admission to the Barnes Museum on the Parkway, just like every other first Sunday of the month. That’s better than $22 a person, and you can finally see what all those artsy types have been talking about for the past five years. Timed tickets are available as walk-ins only, so get there early because they will run out.
