First Pics: Renew Yoga studio opens in Newbold

Renew Yoga, a small yoga studio which we told you last month was under construction, is now open at 1508 Moore St.

Owner Emily Lenard teaches vinyasa, ashtanga, yin and gentle yoga  every day of the week at the new studio. Most classes are $10, but some “community” classes will cost $5 to $10 based on what participants can contribute.

Lenard chose the studio on Moore Street because of its small, cozy size that she believes benefits everyone taking her classes.

“I like the idea of a neighborhood studio,” said Lenard. “Each student gets more individual attention in a smaller space.”

Lenard started in the yoga world by teaching classes at Hawthorne Yoga and Reiki and she wants people to know that they don’t need to fit a certain mold to take her classes.

“Yoga is not about outfits or circus-like poses,” she said. “It’s all about an internal relationship with yourself.”

There are two to four classes a day at times ranging from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. No class-sign up is required. Students may walk in as they please. Check Renew’s Facebook page for updates and the class schedule.

Awesome article Ruthann! Thank you. One small correction, we do not teach ashtanga, but our vinyasa classes are ashtanga based.
