Eclectic Expressionism adds glass pipes – and a tarot reader and astrologer on weekends

Eclectic Expressionism, the purple-fronted, new-age gallery and gift shop at 1507 E. Passyunk Ave., will start having a tarot reader and an astrologist come in on the weekends.

The shop also started stocking glass pipes. You know, for tobacco.

Owner Nicola Vittoria says the nicer pieces are in the back.

As far as the soothsaying goes, Vittoria is hosting a “Psychic Fair” on Sunday Nov. 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. to introduce two new people to the gallery’s customers. A tarot card reader and an astrologer will be on hand for $15 readings that will take 10 to 15 minutes. In the future, readings will be every Saturday and Sunday by appointment.

Eclectic expressionism flier

Certainly diversifies the avenue’s retail offerings, huh? Of course, don’t forget Glass on Glass, which shares space with Sit&Spin Records at 9th and Reed.

I’m sure they got their zoning variance for fortune reading, right? Honestly, different strokes for different folks and everything, but fortune tellers are just manipulative con artists.

Fortune reading requires a specific variance?

        Yes. It’s a forbidden use in CMX-1 through CMX2.5.
