It may have taken sightly longer than its targeted September date, but like its namesake Moonshine Bar just needed some time before opening.
The bar and restaurant has been open for two weeks in Pennsport at the old location of the East Side Moyomensing Saloon at Moyamensing and Sigel, and so far it has gotten rave reviews. We stopped by and spoke with co-owner Rich Fattori and snapped some pics of the new spot.
That’s the front of the menu and it is loaded with goodness inside. Fattori said they heard from so many people that Pennsport needs more food options and he answered the call in a big way. Below is the menu in full.
As if all that delicious (and cheap!) food wasn’t enough, Moonshine boasts an impressive beer list that is sure to please any drinker. Fattori said he tried to cover a wide range and he did just that with the first draft list that Moonshine opened with.
The bar is still getting adjusted and so the list may remain the same for awhile but Fattori assured us you will see them on phillytapfinder.com soon and will continue to change out the taps.
Finally, starting last weekend, brunch is served every Sunday complete with mimosas and bloody marys. Thats right Pennsport, we now have The Industry, 2nd Street Brewhouse and Moonshine Bar as viable brunch options!
They kept the bar from the East Side Moyomensing Saloon and redid everything around it, including a newly renovated dining room. Check out the rest of the pics below.
Moonshine has kept the iconic East Side Moyomensing Saloon sign that was so coveted by neighbors during the renovation. Fattori said a woman even offered him $400 for it, but he refused. Now it proudly hangs in the dining room of Moonshine.
