Point Breeze was featured Sunday in the Inquirer’s weekly Town by Town real estate feature, which seemed to highlight as many negatives as positives, which is a shame.
Location for Point Breeze, as with other neighborhoods adjacent to Center City, is bringing change – some welcome, some not so much. In fact, as you try to discern what is happening in this South Philadelphia neighborhood, you are warned that you are, in the words of one source, “wading into that thorny mess.”
The story noted its proximity to Graduate Hospital and transit, as well as the potential for the extension of the Schuylkill Banks greenway. But the writer spent more time talking about subsidized housing over the past 20 years than the amenities available or the increasing prospects for what is already a good neighborhood in many spots.
