Era Atomica moving into 1835 E. Passyunk Ave., adding vintage clothes, reupolstering

The new tenant for the old TanQuest at 1835 E Passyunk Ave. will be Era Atomica, which is moving one block from its cramped strorefront at 1726 E Passyunk Ave.

Owner Stacey Bartholetti said she hopes to open her mid-century furniture store (technically not the antique store her new landlord told us about) in the new location within six weeks, after a thorough remodeling of all three floors of the space.

More than just a larger space, Bartholetti said in an email that she plans to increase the store’s offerings as well:

“Once we move, our customers can expect the following:
• Larger square footage, with more furniture choices including bedroom sets, larger wall units and sofa sectionals available.
• A larger stock of vintage clothing in collaboration with Astro Vintage and a full sized dressing room.
• On-site inventory of small items, and smaller furniture available in order to fulfill requests more quickly and efficiently.
• On-site workshop where we hope to offer repair and reupholstering of mid-century furniture, regardless of where it was purchased.”

In the meantime, they’re running big sales at their current location and will plan a big party for the night of the move. Follow the shop on Twitter for details.

Congratulations, Stacey. It’s good to see Passyunk businesses succeeding and expanding – a la Metro Men’s clothing and Fond. When both of those businesses moved to larger spaces, their old locations were snapped up, by an unnamed prepared foods shop, which is building out now, and the BYOB Laurel. Wonder what that means for 1726…

This is my favorite store on the Avenue and I am thrilled to see them expanding to bigger digs! When we first moved to the neighborhood, we decorated half our house with pieces from Era Atomica. I hope they have some good clearance sales as they prepare to move 🙂

Good for them! My wife and I have bought a few items from E.A. and frequently stop in to see what new finds they have. Looking forward to seeing the expanded shop.
