New Year’s around South Philly? 10 things to do


So, you wanna go out for New Year’s, but you wanna be able to stumble home. Ditto. In that case, here are a smattering of events within stumbling distance, roughly in descending order of personal interest. If we’ve missed something, please leave it in the comments.

Dolphin Tavern:  POP MUZIK  New Years Eve includes tecate and well open bar from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. $20 per person, DJ Robert Drake  and champagne toast at midnight. 

Fond: $80 a head, five course menu.

Boot and Saddle:  NYE includes open bar ($50 per person)  and champagne toast at midnight. Performances will include The Highwater Preachers, Red Skiles and the Country Ramblers , and DJ Breakfast

Adobe Cafe:  Karaoke party, optional $40 open bar from 11 p.m.-2 a.m. and free champagne at midnight. (For all its faults, Adobe has badass karaoke)

Devil’s Den: Cocktail specials, party favors and champagne toast at midnight.

Stogie Joe’s: DJ E.P.I from 10 p.m.-2 a.m., $10 buckets of Miller Highlife, $3 margaritas,  $2 beers and $5 shot and beer combos (No cover charge).

Chickie and Pete’s:  NYE party at 9 p.m. with  a buffet that costs $80 per person and comes with a champagne toast at midnight.

12 Steps Down:  Dance party

SoWe invites you to try their special New Year’s menu, $50 open bar 10-close, $5 champagne all night, late night treats and NYD brunch from 10-3.

Noir: 4-course, $55 per person, choice of dessert, a DJ, party favors and a free glass of champagne.
