SoPhilly Spotlight: Graffiti Homage edition

Yes, it’s weird to pick a SoPhilly Spotlight  because of it’s garage, but this one at 1412 S 7th St. is pretty cool. It’s also in a converted building that we called a graffiti museum when we wrote about the project back in April. Turns out, they like the graffiti and kept it for the heated garage.

It doesn’t hurt that the rest of the 2-bedroom loft apartment, unit 7 of the building, is super cool, even though it has the same kitchen as almost every other  new construction project on the market. It’s going for a cool $1,650 a month.

A mosaic tile backsplash and dark cabinets. Sure, we'd rather have this kitchen than our own, but it's starting to get old, no?
A mosaic tile backsplash and dark cabinets. Sure, we’d rather have this kitchen than our own, but it’s starting to get old, no? Or is it just because we’ve looked at too many real-estate listings?

The Craigslist listing gives a verbal tour through the multilevel apartment:

Starting with a heated parking garage, High-Tech visual security intercoms, beautifully exposed brick, central AC & Heat, Red Oak Hardwood Floors and Amazing Graffiti, created by local Philly Artists, throughout the entire building, these apartments are Truly One Of A Kind!

To be clear, the graffiti was there when the outside of the building looked like this.

Now, the outside is a bit uninspired with that gray stucco, though at least it’s a big improvement.

But we digress. Back to the inside:

Central air, high vaulted ceilings, Red Oak hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances are standard in each apartment, but there are only two lofts, within this apartment building and this is one of them.

When you enter this unit, located on the left side is the enclosed nicely sized bedroom, with big windows and two large, deep him & her closets. Down the hall, there is a Huge utility closet with a brand new water heater and brand new Samsung heavy duty washer and dryer, with space left over for extra storage.

This is probably a pretty small bedroom.

At the end of the hallway, there are stairs leading to the large open loft, with 3 Big windows, allowing for tons of extra sunlight.

This is the second bedroom.

Down from the loft, there is a very large, beautifully designed slate and tiled bathroom, on your left. The bathroom has a huge bathtub shower, with dark coffee colored wood cabinets, under the vanity, a big mounted mirror and built in lighting fixtures, above.

Outside the bathroom is a set of stairs leading down into the Huge open Kitchen and Living room, with 18 foot ceilings and recessed lighting. The living room has, yet another set of 3 huge widows, for even more natural sunlight to be let in.

The kitchen has granite counter tops, beautifully decorated tile backsplash, dark coffee colored wood cabinets and a center island, for a perfect breakfast bar.

Which you’ve seen. So, what do you think, worth $1,650?
