Quick Hits: More homes for Point Breeze; Bibimbap & Italian for South; Navy Yard Courtyard

- A new four-home development – priced at $399k a piece – will be sprouting from the 2000 block of Annin Street in Point Breeze, which only a few years ago was something of a vacant lot showcase, says Naked Philly. It’s right around the corner from the burgeoning intersection of 20th Street, Federal and Point Breeze Ave.
- BAP Philly is now open at 1224 South St., says City Paper. The Korean takeout joint specializes in a variety of bibimbap, which is essentially stir-fry with an egg on top.
- Just off South, a BYOB to be called Spitalieri’s Italiano Ristorante is building out in the space that used to be Gnocchi, 613 E. Passyunk Ave., says The Insider.
- And down in the Navy Yard, the Marriott Courtyard has opened to overnight guests and to a robust happy hour crowd from the surrounding businesses, says the South Philly Review.
I hope they do not/did not get permission for those front-facing garages. I believe they are prohibited under the new Zoning Code, as they should be. They make the block feel dead.
