Steakhouse called Philly Strip Joint will be taking over G-Ho’s SoWe spot

Saying they’re “bringing value to steakhouse dining,” the owners of SoWe at 22nd and Carpenter streets have rebooted their corner spot into the Phlly Strip Joint. Get it?

A reopening party is scheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 25, according to the Facebook page, which noted that Sunday was the last brunch service as SoWe.  That apparently means there won’t be much remodeling going on.

“The Strip Joint is a value-driven steakhouse with a focus on providing an upscale dining experience in a fun, vibrant setting,” says the Facebook page. “The Strip Joint is bringing value back to the steakhouse experience by executing a simple menu exceptionally well. With a full steak dinner for under $20, The Strip Joint is a dining destination to Center City steak lovers and visitors alike. TSJ offers a local neighborhood bar vibe complete with carefully crafted cocktails and a superb bar menu.”

Well, the price is right. Now let’s see how their steaks are. If you visit, please come back with a full report.

UPDATE: The Insider caught up with owner Nancy Law, who said that she has a relationship with a slaughterhouse that “will keep quality up and prices down.” Also, expect a bar menu and 10 wines for under $30 a bottle.
