Film about ‘sneckdowns’ and panel discussion held at Adobe Cafe this week

Remember those pictures of how snow can show ways to make some streets – like Passyunk Avenue – friendlier to pedestrians?

Well, the blog that posted those pictures, This Old City, is hosting a panel discussion and film screening about that issue on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Adobe Cafe. There will be a little social hour from 6 to 7 p.m. (to get some social lubricant going), followed by a 30-minute movie by Streetfilms and then a one-hour panel discussion about “the opportunities Passyunk Avenue’s diagonals pose for extending space to pedestrians and businesses of South Philly.”

Just like what the city is planning to do at 12th and Morris.

The panel will include Councilman Mark Squilla; Andrew Stober of the Mayor’s Office for Transportation and Utilities, Beth Miller of the Community Design Collaborative, and David Goldfarb, zoning chair of the East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association.
