What’s up with Del’s II on Front Street?
Crews have been seen making exterior alterations to the former Del’s II joint, which you probably know as the vacant restaurant with the “Hot Beef, Hot Pork” signage on Front and Tasker streets.
Does that mean it could be on it’s way back? Could yet another restaurant (Pub on Wolf) be making it’s way to Front Street (old Ugly American)?
Building owner Marcello Giordano, of nearby Giordano’s Fruit and Produce, said that the crews are just cleaning up the exterior and removing the graffiti. He did say that he’s had a few people interested in the property and that a restaurant could be a possibility, but there is nothing in the way of a lease as of yet.
Maybe they can get rid of the bars on the windows and make it a little more inviting for potential renters? At least he’s trying to spruce things up a bit.
As always, we’ll keep you posted once more information becomes available.

Maybe its just the awesome signs but I’ve always dreamed of this place being revived to sell gourmet meats. OK yes I’ll admit the daydream is more akin to a hipster/yuppy butcher selling all grass fed, locally raised, whole animal meat… amidst a smart and snappy interior renovation, but keep the signs. There are people *cough John Longacre cough* who could execute on something like this very well.
It’s funny you say that. Before it was Del’s II, it was called Annie’s Steaks and it was long rumored that they were using horse meat in the steaks.
