New “Rocky” movie being filmed this week in South Philly

Noticing some movie trailers and action happening on Broad and 13th between Tasker and Dickinson today? Well, that happens to be for the new “Rocky” movie, “Creed,” which is being filmed at various locations throughout the city this month.

As you can see, there’s a film crew set up at Adrian’s. According to spectators in the area, Stallone was filming in there as of 12 p.m.

The movie stars, of course, Sylvester Stallone as Rocky, as well as Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed. In the movie, Stallone is playing Creed’s mentor and trainer, according to IMDB’s synopsis of the upcoming film.

According to the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, this location will be used for filming from today through Thursday afternoon. As of early Tuesday afternoon, Sylvester Stallone was filming inside of Adrian’s set up on Dickinson St.

Since this is a big-budget movie being filmed in the area, watch out for all of those delays and road closures thanks to the filming. Broad is lined with trailers and sections of Dickinson are closed because of the filming.
