British bakery called Stargazy to open at 1838 E. Passyunk Ave.

In April, Ms. Goody Cupcake shop closed at 1838 E. Passyunk Ave. after three years in business. Now a different type of bakery is set to open in the location.

A new spot called Stargazy will be bringing British specialties like meat pies, mash and eels to East Passyunk Avenue.

This new restaurant is being opened by Chef Sam Jacobson, who has worked at spots like SouthWark in Queen Village. Jacobson was raised in London, so he should know a thing or two about baking up some British delights.

Stargazy’s menu will include specials, in addition to their daily menu with things like Cornish pasty, Bedfordshire clanger, sausage rolls and more. There are also some sweeter options with things like sticky toffee pudding and Eton mess.

The beverage menu includes drinks like Fentimans beverages and coffee, in addition to free tea.

The spot will offer both counter service and take-away.

You can check out Stargazy on Facebook here.

OMG I’m so excited!!! I feel like this is definitely a nice change from the coffee shops and regular sweets shops we have. I’m sure a lot of other Anglophiles will be happy, too.
