South Street Headhouse District receives $525k grant for safety improvements
The South Street Headhouse District will soon be seeing $525,000 in safety improvements.
Earlier this week it was announced by State Rep. Michael O’Brien that the district, which covers South Street and Fabric Row, would receive the grant money.
According to Philly Voice, the funds will be used to improve these things:
• Narrowed driving lanes to calm traffic/enhance pedestrian safety
• Wider walking paths
• Realigned crosswalks
• Speed bumps
• Pedestrian-level lights
• Directional signs

More suburban development style plastic surgery to our genuine urban landscape… Yay yuppies… Yay hipsters… When yas move out in a few years and leav is with these hinderances to movement in the streets, we’ll thoroughly loathe you.
